Changing room lockers: how to size a company changing room

For a company changing room, start from the number of people per shift and the space available: a 3-compartment locker takes up 900 mm of width and serves three people. Fami Perfom changing room lockers are made of painted sheet steel, 502 mm deep and 1750 mm high, with ventilation slots and a cylinder lock with key on every door.

Lockers with 2, 3 and 4 compartments

Perfom lockers are available with 2, 3 and 4 compartments, each with a height-adjustable top shelf and a hanging rail. Each compartment holds workwear, a bag and shoes. Prices start from around €290 for the 2-compartment locker.

Feet and sloping top

Where floors are washed frequently, such as in the food industry, healthcare and gyms, the version with feet is the better choice: the locker stays raised off the floor and can be cleaned underneath. The sloping top prevents items being placed on top of the locker and dust building up; it can be ordered with the locker or added later, for a total height of 2170 mm. Both accessories are in the same subcategory.

Changing room benches

The changing room benches complete the room: steel frame and 3-slat seat, lengths 1000, 1500 and 2000 mm, load capacity 300 or 400 kg. The version with backrest and coat hooks, 1900 mm high, is useful where there are not enough lockers or as a place to hang PPE. Prices start from around €115.

What the regulations say

Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 (Annex IV) requires changing rooms with lockers for every worker who has to wear workwear; when hazardous or soiling substances are handled, the locker must keep personal clothing separate from workwear: in that case two compartments per person or lockers with a divider are used. Check your specific case with your health and safety officer (RSPP).

Completing the changing room

As well as lockers and benches, a company changing room often needs a closed PPE cabinet, which you will find among the PPE cabinets, and a utility cabinet for detergents and supplies, among Perfom metal cabinets . Frequently asked questions

How many compartments are needed per person?

One compartment per person is the minimum. If the worker handles hazardous or soiling substances, Legislative Decree 81/2008 requires personal clothing to be kept separate from workwear: you need two compartments per person or a locker with an internal divider. Check with your health and safety officer (RSPP).

Are the changing room lockers ventilated and lockable?

Yes. Each door has ventilation slots and a cylinder lock with key.

What are the feet and sloping top for?

The feet raise the locker off the floor so the floor underneath can be washed, which is useful in food and healthcare settings. The sloping top prevents items being placed on top of the locker and dust building up. They can be ordered with the locker or added later.

Are prices excl. VAT? Do you also sell to private individuals?

Prices on the website are excl. VAT. We only sell to businesses and professionals with a VAT number. The minimum order is €150 + VAT.

How are changing room lockers delivered?

Lockers travel on pallets by courier. Standard delivery is kerbside, without a tail lift: you need a forklift or a pallet truck for unloading. If you don't have one, you can request a truck with a tail lift for €70 + VAT. Handling (manual unloading, delivery to your floor) has an extra cost, to be quoted before ordering. Over €250 + VAT standard delivery within Italy is free; below that it costs €40 + VAT.
