Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a starter unit and an add-on unit?
The starter unit has two complete end frames. The add-on unit has only one and hooks onto the end frame of the adjacent unit: it costs less and the run takes up less space. The first unit in each run must be a starter unit.
How much can a System ST shelving unit hold?
120 kg per shelf with a uniformly distributed load; with 5 shelves that is 600 kg per bay. The figure is shown on the page of each model. Heavier loads or pallets require heavy-duty industrial racking, which is not in the catalogue.
Does it need to be fixed to the wall?
For shelving units 2000 mm high and 300 mm deep, wall fixing or back-to-back coupling is recommended, especially if the load is at the top. The rear frame for wall installation is among the accessories.
