Industrial containers and plastic boxes: which format for what

Containers are chosen according to where they go and how material is picked: on view on shelving or panels, stacked on pallets, placed in a drawer or handled by forklift. Fami manufactures polypropylene containers in Italy, including recycled and ESD conductive versions, as well as painted sheet-steel containers.

Open-fronted bins

The Picking Box Air and Picking Box Mythos open-fronted bins are the small parts bins for shelving, perforated panels and picking trolleys: front opening for seeing and picking, stackable and, in the case of Picking Box Air, also nestable when empty to save warehouse space. Sizes 1 to 5, with intermediate variants, in several colours for department colour coding. Prices start from around €1 per piece, in multipacks.

Stackable Euro Box containers

The Euro Box stackable containers have modular dimensions based on the 800x1200 Europallet (300x200, 400x300, 600x400 and 800x600 mm) and heights from 70 to 420 mm: they stack securely thanks to their reinforced edges, with load capacity up to 60 kg and volume up to 123 litres. Available with closed or open handles, in virgin, recycled or conductive polypropylene for electronics, with hinged lid and comb dividers.

Shelf bins and metal boxes

The RK Box shelf bins are drawer-style boxes, up to 234 mm wide and 500 mm deep, to be fitted with dividers, front label strips and label holders: each box has a stop that prevents accidental removal. Metal boxes are the choice for heavy parts, swarf and hot environments: load capacity up to 150 kg, six sizes, with dividers and supports.

Bulk containers, skips and accessories

In industrial containers, bulk containers and skips you'll find tipping scrap skips of 300, 500 and 750 litres for forklifts, containers with opening bottoms, 1200x800 forkliftable plastic bulk containers and containers with castors. In container accessories : lids, dividers, front label strips and trolleys for Euro Box 600x400, ESD versions included.

Colours and identification

Open-fronted bins and Euro Box containers are available in several colours: using them to distinguish departments, product families or material status (to be processed, compliant, scrap) reduces picking errors without extra labels. Where labels are needed, RK Box and Picking Box have a front label holder and replacement labels can be ordered.
